DANCE
Our school has three dance groups:

  • Senior Dance Group

  • Junior Dance Group

  • Boys Dance Group

These are all auditioned groups and they rehearse at lunch times and after school. They perform at concerts both within school and externally and compete in eisteddfods, achieving outstanding results.

DRAMA

Our school has an auditioned drama group which meets one lunch time a week. They explore different forms of drama, from plays to improvisation. Selected members perform at the Hills Performing Arts Festival.

PERFORMANCE MUSIC

Bands
Cherrybrook Public School has two bands, a training Band and the Performing Band. A parent committee organises and coordinates both bands. The band has been in operation at Cherrybrook for many years and children progress from the Training Band through to the Performing Band.  A Band camp is held annually to hone the skills of the band members and to develop teamwork and cooperation among members. The band performs at festivals, Education Week celebrations, Musical Nights and Presentation Day.

Choirs
Our school has four choirs for its talented singers.

Chamber Choir

An auditioned group of 28 students from Years 3 to 6. They rehearse before school two mornings a week and perform at many events both within the school and externally. They participate in the Primary Choral Festival at the Sydney Opera House and the Schools Spectacular at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. The choir has a reputation for excellence and has been invited to perform at many special events and has been recorded for television.

Senior Choir

An auditioned group of 40 students from Years 5 and 6. They rehearse once a week during class time and, in addition to in-school performances, they form part of the Combined Choir at the Hills Performing Arts Festival at the Hills Centre.

Junior Choir

An auditioned group of 40 students from Years 3 and 4. They rehearse once a week during class time and selected members are chosen to perform in the Primary Proms concert at the Sydney Town Hall.

Year Two Choir

All students in Year 2 are given the opportunity to sing in the Year 2 choir for either the first or second semester.
