Prior to Easter students in Kindergarten to Year 2 participate in
an Easter Activity Day. Activities include:

Learning about the Australian Bilby

Craft Activities

Easter Games

Easter Competitions

Kindergarten Easter Hat Parade

A visit by the Easter Bunny

Picnic lunch with parents
Kindergarten students invite their Grandparents or special elderly
friends to school. Grandparents are
treated to a special concert.
Classrooms are visited and students enjoy morning tea with their guests.
In Term 3 four Kindergarten Information Sessions are held covering
topics such as school readiness, reading, writing and mathematics.
During Term 4 two Kindergarten Orientation Days are held. Parents and
children are familiarised with the school and the way it operates.
Parents are advised, by letter, of the dates and organisation of the
Kindergarten Orientation Days.
Parents and Community members are invited to the school on Public
Education Day. It is a day when we proudly highlight the wonderful
programs offered in our public education system.
Education Week is celebrated in a variety of ways at Cherrybrook PS.
Activities include:
An Infants Christmas Concert is held at the end of Term 4 to celebrate
the end of the school year and Christmas. It features the singing
of traditional and not so traditional Christmas songs by the students.
In addition there is also a graduation ceremony of Kindergarten students.
All classes K-6 celebrate the end of year with either
a “Party Day” or an outing to a venue of high interest e.g. skating, the
movies, bowling etc.
Presentation Day is held during the last two weeks of Term 4 at Pennant
Hills High School. Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 attend
allowing award winners to be presented and celebrated in front of their
peers. All school achievements are acknowledged and School
Captains and Vice Captains for the following year are inducted during
the ceremony.
Book Week Celebrations include performances and author visits for all
students K-6. Kindergarten students are invited to attend a
Bedtime Storytelling session in the Library during Book Week. Students
wear pyjamas, bring a favourite soft toy or pillow and enjoy an evening
of stories read by Year 6 students.
DISCOS
School Discos are held in the school hall
each semester. Themes provide the focus for an enjoyable evening that is
well attended by students and teachers. |
